Conference CornerMeeting report: National Dementia Co-operative Meeting Over 60 people attended the regional meeting of the National Dementia Cooperative in Rotorua on February 22 to hear presentations on the work under way across the sector to improve services for people with dementia. These presentations included: Overview of the National Dementia Cooperative (Dr Chris Perkins) An update from the Ministry of Health (Anne Foley) Midland Regional Dementia Advisor update (Ruth Thomas) Southern Region update (Dr Matthew Croucher) Dementia services in the Northern Region (Sue Thomson) Dementia Model: A Continuum (Dr Gavin Pilkington) Central Region Dementia Behavioural Support Advisory Services update (Andrea Bunn) IHC Successful Ageing project (Robyn Wilson) Following the presentations, in order to identify specific projects, the meeting split into six groups: workforce development, research, informal carers, dementia care pathways, information sharing, and lobbying and advocacy.
